This past Friday January 28, 2011 I was at work all day and something kept nagging at me. I knew I was forgetting something but couldn't figure it out. A birthday? An appointment? What? It hit me on the way home, it was my 6 month anniversary since my surgery! Can you believe that I would spend all day thinking I was forgetting something and sure enough I was. I hope my check up in March is good or better yet undetectable. I think at that point I will feel a lot better about my long term cancer free chances. I know I have a 95% cancer free for the 1st year, 92.5% for 2 years and about 87% for 10 years. Anyone out there that reads my ramblings and has had to do follow up treatment I have a question. Was your 6 week PSA undetectable? At what point did you see your PSA start rising? Did you have any positive margins, bladder involvement, or positive seminal vesicles at surgery? My biggest fear is that 20% of my prostate was cancerous. Everything else was negative, but my post op Gleason was 3+4=7 ( pre op was 3+3=6). I hope God continues to bless me and all of you.
